1. Introduction

The ML Single Mother Foundation is committed to supporting single mothers in Gambia who live in vulnerable circumstances. The foundation focuses on providing help in the areas of basic needs, care, and development.

2. Objective of the Foundation

The foundation’s aim is “to support single mothers in Gambia, among other things by collecting necessities for basic needs, with food, medical care, clothing, shelter, and education forming important elements, as well as guiding and implementing such aid projects, with no distinction based on race, belief, or origin”. The foundation is nonprofit and operates solely for the public benefit.

3. Activities and Operations

To achieve its objective, the foundation carries out several key activities:

Collection of Basic Needs

  • Food supplies

  • Clothing and shoes

  • Medical supplies

  • Hygiene products

  • Educational materials

  • Housing assistance

Projects and Aid in Gambia

  • Supporting single mothers in obtaining food and shelter

  • Facilitating medical care through local clinics

The foundation works with local aid workers, community leaders, and volunteers to manage the following:

The foundation earns income through various streams:

5. Management and Expenditure of Assets

The board manages all financial and material resources carefully and transparently. Foundation assets are:

  • Used solely for activities contributing to the objective

  • Managed via a separate bank account in the name of the foundation

  • Accounted for in annual financial statements

Use of Resources

Resources are specifically spent on:

  • Purchase of food, clothing, medical supplies, and school materials

  • Transport and logistics of goods to Gambia

  • Local project costs such as education, housing, and medical assistance

  • Minimal operating costs, including website maintenance, bank charges, and promotion
